We’re now less than three weeks away from PRINTING United Expo, which heads to Las Vegas on September 10-12.

This week’s newsletter focus is workforce development, automation, and succession planning.

Printing Impressions tacked the issue of labor challenges in the article “Using Automation to Address Labor Challenges and Improve Profitability.”

Although automation solves some challenges, businesses need to address succession planning to ensure the success and viability of a company. Check out this article from PRINTING United Alliance’s Adriane Harrison as she outlines the 10 steps you should take now for succession planning.

Speaking of the next generation, In-plant Impressions recently published a piece that dives into how one in-plant opened its doors to bring Gen Z into the fold.

Underscoring the importance of the next generation, Apparelist recently covered the SkillsUSA championship and took some time to speak with four student winners in the screen printing technology category.

Staying on this topic, Packaging Impressions shared an article that addresses exit strategies, succession planning, training and development, and more.

Finally, this year, PRINTING United Alliance is once again proud to support Student Day in conjunction with the Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation.  Student Day will take place Wednesday, September 11.  Students should meet in the PRINTING United Alliance Member Lounge at 8:00 a.m. where they will get an introduction prior to touring organization on the show floor to see a front row view in the later in printing and more.  For more information about Student Day, please email membership@printing.org.
