With the right process, direct inkjet printing can imitate the results of conventional production methods in the fiber-based industry. This session is not just about screen printing on flat fabrics, which is already known to be replaced sooner or later. It will also address production methods that have not been influenced by digital printing in a broader sense but will lead to a "little revolution" at one point or another. It will present short interesting case studies, demonstrating where inkjet printing already has replaced established production methods such as weaving, tufting, dyeing etc. It will show what digital printing technology is already able to replace today, and how it can simplify production processes and reduce costs at the end.
